Through this powerful tool, we have successfully implemented processes and procedures around financial reporting, accounting, donor maintenance, human resources management as well as volunteer and member tracking. NetSuite functionality is integral to the strategic planning and vision that will allow our organization to grow and continue to serve an expanding population of clients.”

Emily Glasser
President & CEO

Achilles International was founded by Dick Traum in 1983 to provide people with disabilities the opportunity to compete in mainstream sporting events. In 1976, Dick was the first amputee to run a marathon, the NYC marathon and the experience, the sense of achievement and self-esteem drove him to launch Achilles International and grow it to over 65 chapters here in the US and around the world.

Achilles International AthletesEvery day, the team at Achilles and their volunteer partners provide support and advocacy for disabled athletes from all backgrounds, both civilian and military veterans through the Achilles Freedom Team. Achilles athletes train together through group workouts to build fitness and confidence that permeates through other aspects of their lives through training and racing together.

Achilles reaches as far as its resources permit and inclusion is a value at the core of all their work. Working with NYC Department of Education, Achilles Kids works with children with disabilities to run a virtual marathon over a year along with training and racing opportunities too.

All this good work takes a great deal of commitment and resources to manage efficiently. To support the operation, Achilles management turned to PTX Partners to implement NetSuite’s Suite Impact, Not-For-Profit ERP cloud software.

The project required the redeployment of all business processes, supported across a range of systems and applications into NetSuite.

NetSuite Financials: NetSuite manages the day to day financial operations from donation and pledge reporting to FASB and management reporting

Expense Management: The Achilles Team is continually on the road at marathon events and tracking expenses on NetSuite mobile has enhanced controllership and reduced operational effort for all parties.

Member and Volunteer Management: NetSuite has enabled Achilles to support member and volunteer intake and greatly enhance their ability to engage and communicate with their constituents.
